Public Hearings

Board of Supervisors holds hearings on all ordinance changes, all changes in land use plans and ZONING*, the annual County BUDGET*, all TAX* levies, and other matters of importance. See SUPERVISORS.

Other bodies holding public hearings include the Planning Commission, the Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA), the Water Authority, the Redevelopment and Housing Authority, the School Board, the Library Board of Trustees and the Park Authority.

Meeting notices are published in the WEEKLY AGENDA*, posted on the Fairfax County home page http://www.co.fairfax.va.us and published as legal notices in a local paper.

Speaking time. Individuals wishing to speak before these groups may contact them directly.

You can help keep track of the public hearings on matters affecting your community by working with your civic association, which tries to ensure an appropriate input is made.
