Senior Services
Companion Registry is a free list of persons offering home care services to seniors. Call the Area Agency on Aging ((751**) at 324-5411.
Volunteers provide friendly visits to isolated older persons through the agency's Friendship Senior Program. Golden Gazette is their monthly newsletter for seniors 60 and over; subscriptions are free ((753**), but contributions are encouraged.
Daytime health care is offered on weekdays to all senior residents at the Mount Vernon Adult Day Health Care Center, 8850 Richmond Highway. The Center, run by the County Health Department, has planned programs, hot meals, health services and supportive and therapeutic services. Call 799-1550 7:00 am to 5:30 pm week-days.

Income-eligible seniors can receive home-based care and home-maker services through the County Department of Family Services. Call 324-7500 for the nearest branch office.
