Walking

Walking is truly one of the pleasures of living in our lovely community, and is good exercise.

Please walk on the left when walking in the roadway, facing on-coming traffic. It's reassuring for passing drivers to know that you see them. It's safer for you. And it's also the state law.

Pick-a-piece. Our streets will be more attractive if during each walk we each pick up one piece of roadside trash and put it in the nearest trash can.

Newspapers. When you see a neighbor's newspaper still in the driveway by supper time, be a good neighbor and take it up to the porch. That will make it less an invitation to a potential burglar and will ensure it does not turn into an ugly mass of pulp, as easily happens when papers are left in the driveway.
